A graveside service for Mamie West, 91, 605-C North Alameda St., is to be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Carlsbad Cemetery with Gene Fooks officiating. She died Feb. 23 at a local nursing home.
She was born Nov. 5, 1896, in Marlow, Okla., and moved to Eddy County in 1914. She married the late C.C. West in 1916. They operated several grocery stores in the Carlsbad area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford C. West and W. Fred West, both of Carlsbad; one daughter, Elizabeth Bird, Carlsbad; one brother, Henry Lucian Carver, Carlsbad; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
