OCR text: The Morning News Location: Wilmington, Delaware Issue Date: Thursday, November 27, 1986 John Tunnell West Jr. OCEAN VIEW John Tunnell West 89, of Betts Avenue, died Wednesday of cancer at home. Mr. West was an engineer and an honorary graduate of Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelpia. He worked for Pennsylvania Power Light Co. for many years. He was the executive secretary of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers when he retired in 1962. Mr. West was a member of Ocean View Presbyterian Church, where he was a former deacon. He was a former president of the Selbyville Rotary Club. He donated land to the town of Ocean View for a park that is named in his honor. He was an amateur poet, and published a small volume of poems, "The Poetry Tree." He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two daughters, Sally Hickman of Ocean View and Thelma Hadley of Maplewood, N.J.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ocean View Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
