SERVICES TUESDAY FOR MRS. WEST, PIONEER RESIDENT
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., at West Funeral Home for Mrs. Rebecca Lou West, 85, who died Sunday at a local hospital. The Rev. Joe Emmanuel will conduct the funeral service and burial will be at Carlsbad Cemetery.
Mrs. West was born Jan. 25, 1869 at Danville, Ark. In 1897 she came to Carlsbad in a covered wagon from the Indian Territory and had made her home here since that time. She was a member of the Methodist Church for over 50 years. In addition she was president of the Wesley class of the First Methodist Church, from which church she had received a pin as communion steward for 25 years.
Survivors include five sons, Fred M. West, Claude C. West, Jesse C. West, all of Carlsbad; William H. West, Tucson, Ariz., and Ed L. West, Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. A.W. Hall, Carlsbad, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. West resided at 803 1/2 West Church.
