Thomas W., who was born March 27, 1852, and married Ruth A. Moore. They resided on a farm in Middleport township until his death May 30, 1888, when he was thirty-seven years of age. They had one child, Ray, who was accidentally killed in the grain elevator in Watseka. The widow of Thomas West afterward became the wife of John Zuwalt, a retired farmer now living in Watseka.

Ruth was one of ten children born to Forman Moore and his second wife, Rebecca M. Fleming. Ruth's first marriege was to Thomas W. West; a son of George West and his second wife, Phebe A. Earl. Ruth and Thomas were wed on January 10, 1877 in Iroquois County, Illinois. They had at least one son, Ray West
After Thomas Passed away in May 1888 Ruth remarried. Ruth secondly married John Zumwalt, one of ten children born to Henry Zumwalt and his wife, Nancy Davidson. Ruth and John celebrated their wedding on January 13, 1898.
