OCR text: The Billings Gazette Location: Billings, Montana Issue Date: Wednesday, July 3, 1957 Ruffing-West Vows Exchanged GREYBULL, Wyo. Miss Barbara West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert West, became the bride of Charles W. Ruffing of Basin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ruffing of Basin in a ceremony in the home of the parents of the bride. The Rev Thomas Adam performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Delmyrna Simpson sang "Because," accompanied by Miss Janet West, sister of the bride, who played traditional wedding marches. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. Miss Simpson was maid of honor; Miss Roberta West, sister of the bride, and Miss Joan Nigro of Billings, college classmate df the bride, were bridesmaids'. Norman Ruffing of Basin served his brother as best man. A reception followed the wedding. Mrs. Loren Loomis of Parma, Ohio, aunt of the bride, cut and served the cake. Mrs. Richard Wheeler, aunt of the bride, presided at the punch bowl, and Kay Ruffing of Basin, sister of the bridegroom, had charge of the bride's book. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith of Worland, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom, and Shirley Ruffing of Basin, sister of the bridegroom. The bride, a 1955 graduate of Greybull High School, attended Deaconess school of nurlsing two years. The bridegroom, a graduate of Basin High School and American Flyers School in Fort Worth, is employed as a spray pilot in Worland. Following' a honeymoon to Glacier Park she will resume her studies at the Deaconess school and he will return to Worland.

With her loving family at her bedside, Barbara Ann Ruffing, age 70, passed away quietly in Nampa on Feb. 13, 2008, after a courageous battle with ALS. Barbara was born on March 16, 1937, in Greybull, Wyo., to Robert and Josephine (Frederickson) West. She was the first of four children. After graduating from Greybull High School, she married Charles Ruffing in 1957. She was a graduate of the Montana State University in Bozeman and did her internship at Billings Deaconess Hospital. The first of three children was born in 1959 and they moved to Nampa where she worked at Mercy Medical Center as an RN and after continuing her education as a Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner. After holding many positions she retired from Saltzer Medical Group in 2002. She was best known for her "gentle way of giving shots" and was very active in the immunization program. She was a very active member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene where she held various positions as Sunday School Teacher, Caravan Director, Sunday School Super., Church Board Member and Camp Nurse. She could always be counted on to help with the many dinners and functions. She was also very dedicated with helping at the Spanish Church. She greatly enjoyed the work and witness and medical trips to Mexico, Russia, Haiti and Africa. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her family. She was especially proud of and loved dearly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her mother, Clara Josephine West of Billings, MT; two sisters, Roberta (Bob) Ehli of Billings and Janet (John) Harmon of Wagner, SD; one brother Bob (Marian) West of Greybull; her children Debbie Cafferty, Kathy (Ted) Richardson and Charlie (Tonya) Ruffing, all of Nampa; 10 grandchildren: Nikki (Ted) Ady, Lauri (Steve) Hatch, Kiefer Cafferty, Tyler (Angela) Richardson, Kelli (Cody) Flores, Tanja (Jeremiah) Jenkins, Alisha, Sherie,
Rachel and Kristen Ruffing. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. West.
