OCR text: Fairbury Nebraska The Fairbury Journal-News ยท 26 Nov 1953 Thursday, November 26, 1953 Mrs Hettie Scoithorne Mrs Hettie Scotthorne a long time resident of Fairbury passed away November 18 1953 at the home of her son Dr Harry Harris in Denver Colo at the age of 82 years 5 months and 17 days Hettie Swartz one of the nine daughters of Elizabeth arid John Swartz was born at Ot-tuma Iowa on June 1 1871 and moved to Nebraska at the age of 16 years On March 23 1889 she was married to William Harris at their home near Thompson Nebr by Rev Mark Noble first pastor of the local Baptist church where she held membership at the time of her death They lived in the Dry Branch community until November 1902 when they moved to Fairbury where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1939 and Mr Harris preceded her in death rin October 1942 K On September 1 1943 she married Robert Scotthorne who passed away a few years later Also preceding her ihdeath were her parents and three sisters : 2 i Surviving are a daughter Mrs Effie Bracke of Seattle -and a son Dr Harry Harris - of Denver both of whom who were here for the funeral three grandchildren Frances E Fair-child of Eugene Ore Wm E Harris of Dalton and Robert L Harris of Denver two great grandchildren Susan Fairchild and Harry E Harris son of William and one step-child Mrs Edith Grummert of Fairbury Other survivors include five sisters Mary Pray of Denver Katie Enabnet of Des Moines Bertha Hull of Humeston Iowa Jessie Hutchings of Chariton Iowa and Fanny Harris of Fairbury
