Granville Milton Jones, aged 79, died at his residence on Vine street last Saturday evening at 10 o'clock, of pneumonia after an illness of two weeks duration. He was born in this city at the S.A. Rankin place, and was a son of James and Frankey West Jones, in early life he was married to Miss Matilda Kendrick, a daughter of the late William Kendrick, from which union there was only one child, W.K. Jones of Rankin, who survives him. Mrs. Jones died in 1865. He is also servived by one brother, Ike Jones, of Lincoln county, and four sisters being Mrs. L.J. Stephenson, of this city, Mrs. Ellis Wright, of Lincoln county, Mrs. Eliza Wright, of Montana and Mrs. Bell McBeath, of Missouri. He was always a farmer and lived at Rankin and at Steubenville until he moved here some few years ago, living with his sister-in-law, Mirs. Lizzie Jones until he moved to his residence where be died. He was a member of the Christian church of this city. The funeral services and interrment took place at the Elk Spring Cemetery, the services being conducted by his pastor,
Rev. Arthur H. Baugh.
