Robert is the son of John and Nancy N. West. He married Alice Bailey on December 18, 1871, in Todd County, KY. Robert was a member of Company F. Brd. Regiment, Georgia Infantry C.S.A.
Robert West (1847 - 1893) He was known by the family as Robert Lee West. He married 1st, Alice Bailey (1851 - )18 Dec 1871, Todd Co, KY.(her death unknown). Robert & Alice had one son, Thomas Bailey West (1874-1875), who died young. It was understood the marriage was not a happy one, and the couple divorced.
Robert Lee West, married 2nd, Mary Ann "Mollie" Vaughn (1860-1936), on 18 May 1882, in Christian Co, KY. They became the parents of three children;
1. Alice Norine West Owsley Watson (1883 - 1942)
2. Robert E Lee West (1866 - 1869), who died young.
3. Benjamin Lee "Ben" West (1891 - 1929) He married Daisy Evelyn Tieman, 26 Jul 1912, Evansville, Vanderburgh, IN. Uncle Ben died in an accident, 7 Apr 1929, Los Angeles, CA. Daisy West lived until 1970, and I knew her well - also her three children; Audrey C West Oliver; Cortland Lee West; & Vivian B West Marshall Stinson. For years, all lived in Highland Park, near Los Angeles, CA.
Robert Lee West was a Civil War Veteran. He died, 6 Sep 1893, in Todd Co, KY. On Sep 12, 1893; "The Hopkinsville Kentuckian", a two-column article; DAVIS-WEST, a Double Tragedy at the Depot on Wednesday; Officer Robt West killed in the line of duty by W B Davis, a Suspended Policeman. . .(56043,pt 5, 1891-1894).
